Philippines for Pananaw

If you’ve been on the blogosphere for any amount of time, then you are likely familiar with the lovely Jo. Jo is one of my closest friends, fellow blanket burrito, and birdie buddie, and I am actually thrilled to be presenting this post to you today! You can find Jo’s post on it here. Though she can explain it much better than I ever could, I felt the need as her birdie buddie to spread the word.

There’s an island part of the Philippines called Borocay. Though it may be overlooked by some, not to Jo. Borocay is where her uncle runs the Yapak Community Church. YCC is church which has a congregation of dominantly children and teens – people in need of quite a bit of support. However, her uncle is quite swamped with all the work that needs to be done which is where Jo comes in play.

Jo, who resides in Canada, was recently asked by her uncle to travel the long flight to Borocay to aid running the church for seven months. Let that sink in.

But here’s the catch: Jo needs two-thousand dollars to travel to her uncle’s aid, and that is something that she currently does not have. So, here enters fundraising.

If we could raise the funds of two-thousand dollars, Jo will be able to fly to YCC and bless the community there. Two-thousand dollars. It may be very slight to some, so if you know such people, please spread the word!

You can find a GoFundMe set up here, and if you are able to donate even a little bit, that would mean so much. Every dollar truly counts.

If you are unable to donate, then that’s all right! But here’s something that I need each and every one of you to do: spread the word! On social media, in person…everywhere that you could possibly think of. Send emails, repost, discuss it…everything counts.

But here’s the most important thing: please pray. If you don’t believe that you can help physically, then please give your prayers to help Jo travel to Borocay. Truly, it would mean so much.
